Hi! My name is Angie. I am a sugar addict. In November 2017 I decided I needed to do something. My weight was creeping up, my blood sugars were dangerously close to being diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, I was a size 22/24 and I was just plain miserable.
After a few weeks of research, I decided I was going to give up sugar COMPLETELY. I spent time looking up foods that I would like and could eat and found that sugar was everywhere and in everything. I soon found that to get rid of sugar I would need to give up a lot of carbs.
I set a plan in place... “Keto on Roids” is what my brother calls it. I would start on December 26, 2017. The goals were simple... Under 20g sugar, under 20g carbs, and stay under 1500 calories each day. The goal was 21 days.... I have surpassed that! Instead of a quick fix, this is now my lifestyle.
I started a facebook page to help keep me focused, a place to share my story, my struggles, and my success. I add motivational quotes, interesting facts I have learned, and recipes I have found or created. I am changing... One Day At A Time. Some days are hard, and some are easier than others. I decided to create this blog as a place to really share my story, not just quick posts.
I am not a doctor. My doctor approved my plan for me. Others have decided to give it a go and have found success in losing weight and lowering blood sugars. Some recipes posted are those that I have created, some are have been found and were created by others.
I was the one. The one sitting on the couch thinking about what snack I could sneak next. The one that thought this would be impossible. The one that has been heavy my whole life. The one that took the idea and decided I didn’t want to quit this time. I know others are just like me. THE ONE.... I just want the one to know, if I can do this, YOU can do this!! It is a marathon, not a race. It is a lifestyle change, not a diet. It is NOT easy, but it is WORTH IT!!!
