ZC A real reflection!!

Ok, so I started ZC last week.  I lost almost 5 pounds in 4 days, then I binged.  HARD CORE BINGE!!  Then went out of town to a concert, had a blast with beer, pizza, morning after hashbrown casserole and pancakes.  Needless to say, I gained everything back and then some.

Well, today is a new day.  I do NOT like my weight being up AT ALL.  Especially almost 10 pounds up from my lowest weight.  NOT acceptable.  I have a goal of (now) being down 15 pounds by the end of the month... it was only 5 pounds, but now I have a bit more.  My goal is still to lose 100 pounds in a year.  I am on track to accomplish that goal, IF I don't binge out of control anymore.  Ughhh, I HATE what carbs and sugar do to me!

Since I totally blew it last week, I am resetting the count of 30 days of ZC.  I want to hit my goals, see if it curbs the cravings, and I said I would try it so it is a promise I have to keep.  Thank goodness you are all keeping me honest!!

Day 1 (Saturday, September 8, 2018)  Weight:  XX5.4

Omelet for breakfast with ham and cheese.  Lunch was a sausage, bacon, egg and cheese casserole with a little salsa.  And for dinner was a casserole I just kind of dumped together.  It was really tasty!  I called it ZC CAZZEROLE and the recipe can be found in the blog.

I stayed committed all day.  I will admit, I have the cravings.  I wanted dessert last night.  I was full from the amount, but wanted the sweet.  All of my friends on One Day At A Time. Sugar and Carb Free kept me going!! If I hadn't made the promise to fully commit, I might have binged again!!
love my omelets for breakfast!

Day 2 (Sunday, September 9, 2018)  Weight:  XX2.4 (Down 3.0)

There is NO doubt in my mind this works!!!  3 pounds in a day?!?!  And I went to bed feeling FULL!  Not satisfied, but full!!  I also slept until 8am.  I don't remember the last time I did that!!

OK, so I figured with success yesterday, I would do the same today.  Omelet for breakfast, with ham and cheese.  Lunch was the breakfast casserole again. We had dinner at church tonight.  Wouldn't ya know it, all I could eat was a hamburger patty and a piece of cheese.  By the time we got home, I was hungry!  While the rest of the family was being treated to ice cream, I decided to heat up a little of the ZC Cazzerole.

I don't know if it was because we were so busy today, or if the ZC plan is starting to kick in, but the cravings were cut way down.  It wasn't an urge as much as just thinking about sweet stuff.  I can live without it.  Tomorrow is another work day.  I will have to get up way too early, be 'amped' up, and forced to eat at weird times.  I am planning to eat the exact things as this weekend, fingers crossed that because of the yucky hours, I am still able to go to bed full and not have any cravings.

Day 3 (Monday, September 10, 2018)  Weight:  XX0.8  (Down 4.6)

Omelet for breakfast, Omelet for lunch, with a snack of a hamburger patty and a slice of cheese. A little ZC cazzerole for dinner.  I just snacked on string cheese and hard boiled eggs.

Another great day!!  A few committed days in a row really add up.  Again, meal prep is totally the key!!  Without having a plan, it is way too easy to fall off of the wagon.

I started my morning at work and quickly had to come home. Even being home all day, I was able to stay focused!!
ZC CAZZEROLE!!  My new lunch of choice!!  Check out the recipe in the archives!

Day 4 (Tuesday, September 11, 2018)  Weight:  XX0.6  (Down 4.8)

I can't remember everything I ate on day 4, the day was a blur.  I'm almost sure it was more of the same. An omelet for breakfast, egg casserole for lunch and zc cazzerole for dinner.  Snacks were hard boiled eggs and string cheese.  I do remember really wanting .... something last night.  But to stay on track, I just fried some cheese.  It is like a cheese ball without the breading.

I must admit, the cravings are down, but I am bored with the food.  Not that I ate a whole lot differently before, but if I needed a crunch or snack, I had other options.  They weren't always healthy, but they were still low carb and sugar free.  Oh well, someday I guess.  I really miss sweet stuff.  Not the craving that I was dying for a sweet, but just the I'm bored and want something else to eat.
ZC Cazzerole, so easy and YUMMMMMYYYYYY!!!

Day 5 (Wednesday, September 12, 2018)  Weight: XX9.0 (Down 6.4)

Alright, dang it, I want dessert.  I want something sweet.  I would even be happy with a sugar free jello!!  RGGHHHHH

I started the day with an omelet, lunch was egg casserole, and dinner was a bacon wrapped, loaded chicken breast.  Inside was filled with cheese and ham.  It was delicious!  Although, as I sit here typing this, my belly is full, but I want something sweet.  Dang it!! I would love a little mousse, but made with sugar free pudding mix, well that's out.  I would love a cheesecake, even if I made it stevia free, which would be considered zc, I like mine with strawberry jelly on top, again, that's out.  I need an option.... It isn't even a craving, I just want a different flavor.

Took my daughter to dance and decided to walk during her class.  That definitely helped me refocus and stay on track!!  Averted that temptation.  One day at a time...

Stuffed chicken breast, this one was baked with pork rind coating or wrap it in bacon instead!

Day 6 (Thursday, September 13, 2018)  Weight XX8.2  (Down7.2)

I am continuing to stay committed.  I promised I would try this for 30 days, and by golly, I am going to do it!!

I am shocked, however, I took a ketosis test and I am completely negative for ketones.  After 6 days of zero carbs, I would have thought I would be in ketosis by now.  I guess everyone is different and it can take up to about 10 days or as quickly as 2.

Breakfast was an omelet, lunch was the egg casserole, snacked on hard boiled eggs and string cheese.  Do I sound like a broken record??  Once I find something that is working, I kind of get in a groove and stick with it!

Hard boiled eggs for quick and easy snacks.  Love the Egglette!

Day 7 (Friday, September 14, 2018) Weight XX6.8  (Down 8.6)

Check it out... made it 7 days!!  I would love to say it gets easier, but not feeling it yet.  I have a rotten work schedule, up at 4:30, breakfast at 5:45, lunch at noon and starving by 3.  By the time I get home and have dinner at 4, I would love a little something about 8 or 9 when the kids are off to bed.  Luckily, I am so stinking tired when they go to bed, I'm not far behind so no extra snacks before falling off to sleep.

I decided I needed to bulk up the lunch so I could make dinner time a little later.  I love starting my morning with the 4 egg omelet with ham and cheese fried up in butter.  I am totally filled up and satisfied all the way to lunch.  I packed extra hard boiled eggs and string cheese for snacks, but didn't need them today.  I decided to have some ZC cazzerole for lunch today.  Oh my, I was stuffed.  I didn't realize how filling that stuff is for lunch since I normally eat it at dinner.  No wonder I can go 12 hours until breakfast!!  It totally helped prolong dinner and helped with the late evening desire to munch.  Not going to lie, I still wanted to eat snackies at night, but not because I was hungry, but because of boredom, old habit, whatever the reason, but not hunger.  Ain't emotional eating grand?!?!

Dinner before I ran off to another practice for the kids was their leftover taco meat and I melted cheese over it.  I know the seasoning was not part of the plan, but it was there and I had to grab something quick.

Day 8 (Saturday, September 15, 2018)  Weight XX8.4  (Down 7)

So, Saturday am to Saturday am... Down SEVEN POUNDS!!!  Not quite sure what happened to be up from yesterday... I blame it on extra cheese, TMI!

WEEK'S REFLECTIONS:

Not bad, not bad, not bad!  7 pounds!!  WOOHOOOOO!!!  8.4 to lose in the next 2 weeks.  Motivation right there to keep going!!

Positive side... I have eaten more food in this past week than I have in a long time!  Convenient, easy menu.  Don't have to think too much for what's for dinner.

Down side.... no crunch, no sweets, rghhhh.  I did not embrace the meat side as much as I should.  For the second week, I want to keep with the omelet for breakfast, but add beef to my everyday lunch choice.  The ZC cazzerole was really good and really easy, so I am going to pack that in my lunch.  Then I can have different choices of meat for dinner.

So 7 pounds is amazing this first week, now to stay committed to see what can happen on week 2, stay tuned!!
